Morning from my blog coverage of BSidesLondon. Afer arriving super late , we are at Robin Woods talpk on starting out in security.

* Programming is a useful skill to have in security. Namely bash and python. At the least learn to write a short script to automate.
*Certs are vital to get past human resources. OSCP is useful.
*Sysadmin skills are useful. Learn essential skills like administrating ad.
*Go to conferences. These are useful for networking and training.
*Learn communication and business skills.
*Understand your role in the business
*Learn how to write a report.
*Network and make connections.
*Pentesting is not glamorous.
*Constantly learn.
*Be aware of industry issues.
*Conferences are bad for your liver.
*Love what you do.
